Battleship Missouri Memorial, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii
The Battleship Missouri, the last American battleship, is remembered as the site where World War II formally ended with the signing of the "Instrument of Surrender" by Japan and the Allied nations on September 2, 1945 in Tokyo Bay.
Together with the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor, the "Mighty Mo" continues to serve our nation proudly, inspiring generations with pride and appreciation for our nation's legacy, instilling awareness and understanding of the lessons of war and peace, forever symbolizing the beginning and ending of World War II.
