Pearl Harbor, Hawaii
Arizona Memorial, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii
Pearl Harbor is on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, west of Honolulu. Much of the harbor and surrounding land was in 1941 and continues to be a deep water harbor for the US Navy. On December 7, 1941, a Japanese Naval Fleet secretly moved into position north of the island of Oahu and launched a surprise attack on the Pacific Fleet at anchor in Pearl Harbor attacking at 7:55 a.m. This was the event that resulted in the United States entering World War II.
