Hello Maggie! - The heartfelt children's book Hello Maggie! tells the story of a boy's friendship with a bird in a WWII internment camp.
In this book, author Shigeru Yabu recounts the time he and his family spent as Japanese American internees at the Heart Mountain Relocation Center in Wyoming from 1942 until the end of World War II. During this period, he befriended a magpie and named it Maggie.
I read Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes to my fifth graders every year. I can never finish without tears. These little cranes are a reminder that children are the true victims of war. And children are our hope to end these wars.

I recently bought seven Flags that were flown over the Arizona Memorial on December 7th 2025. I purchased these in memory of all the family members that served our country. They were given to the Sons or Daughters that are now holding the memory of their father. This is inspired by one family member who died during the Second World War and is buried in the American Cemetery in Holland.
With the certificate with each name and the American flag it is now a Treasure addition to their mantles. Thank you to all that served our military and our country.
I did hike to top of Diamondhead and wanted a shirt stating that I did. I loved the hike!!
If I had a suggestion it would be to be aware it runs a little small.
