The battle of Midway was the turning point of the war in the Pacific. This battle, which pitted four Japanese carriers against three US carriers, ended in one action Japan’s dream of controlling the Pacific and handed the naval initiative to the US Navy under the command of Admiral Chester Nimitz. I read Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes to my fifth graders every year. I can never finish without tears. These little cranes are a reminder that children are the true victims of war. And children are our hope to end these wars.

I recently bought seven Flags that were flown over the Arizona Memorial on December 7th 2025. I purchased these in memory of all the family members that served our country. They were given to the Sons or Daughters that are now holding the memory of their father. This is inspired by one family member who died during the Second World War and is buried in the American Cemetery in Holland.
With the certificate with each name and the American flag it is now a Treasure addition to their mantles. Thank you to all that served our military and our country.
I did hike to top of Diamondhead and wanted a shirt stating that I did. I loved the hike!!
If I had a suggestion it would be to be aware it runs a little small.
