Both materials are suitable for outdoor flying or to be highlighted on display. Polymax flags are thicker and heavier, similar to cotton. They reduce wind resistance, increase flag life, and are ideal for commercial applications and high wind areas. Nylon flags are lighter in weight, soft to the touch, treated to resist fading, generally easier to fold, fast drying, and fly in the slightest breeze.
Can I personalize my Certificate of Flag Presentation?
Yes. When placing your order, please input the name(s) you'd like on your certificate. We recommend one line with 45 letters max. We also recommend writing "John Smith" instead of "JOHN SMITH".
I want to choose the date my flag will be flown. Help?
Yes! You can select the date you would like your flag to be flown as long as you place your order at least 7 days in advance. The only days we don’t fly flags are Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day as Pearl Harbor National Memorial is closed.
What is the meaning of a folded USA Flag?
The first fold of the American flag is a symbol of life. The second fold is a symbol of our belief in eternal life. The third fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veteran departing our ranks, and who gave a portion of his or her life for the defense of our country to attain peace throughout the world. The fourth fold is a symbol of our weaker nature, as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace, as well as in times of war, for His divine guidance. The fifth fold is a tribute to our country, the United States of America. For in the words for Stephen Decatur, "Our country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right, but it is still our country, right or wrong." The sixth fold is for where our hearts lie. It is with our heart that we pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. The seventh fold is a tribute to our armed forces, for it is through the armed forces that we protect our country and our flag against all enemies, whether they be found within or without the boundaries of our republic. The eighth fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day, and to honor our mother, for whom it flies on Mother's Day. The ninth fold is a tribute to womanhood, for it has been through their faith, love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great have been molded. The 10th fold is a tribute to father, for he, too, has given his sons and daughters for the defense of our country since he or she was first born. The 11th fold, in the eyes of Hebrew citizens, represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon and glorifies, in their eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The 12th fold, in the eyes of a Christian citizen, represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in their eyes, God the Father, the Son and Holy Ghost.
When the flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost, reminding us of our national motto, "In God We Trust." After the flag is completely folded and tucked in, it has the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the soldiers who served under General George Washington and the sailors and Marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones and were followed by their comrades and shipmates in the U.S. Armed Forces, preserving for us the rights, privileges and freedoms we enjoy today.
The certificate was very well done, and the flag, flown on December 7th, was neatly folded. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Beautiful way to honor loved one
I bought this special flag to honor the memory of my dear father Donald Hiorns. Once a day of celebration ,in our family, 9-11 turned into a horrific day for so many. My father suffered a series of strokes that cost him his life a couple of weeks later. He was a proud Navy veteran. I would like to think he was unaware our beloved country was under attack. This special flag was flown at another place where America was under attack, Pearl Harbor. A beautiful way to honor my father a proud American that loved our country...
Thank you for flying this flag on the anniversary of his passing. I will cherish it forever and it will be passed on to future family members with the flag presentation certificate detailing this special memorial.

USA Flag flown on 9/11/2025
I received my flag about a week after 9/11 - pretty quick when shipping from HI. 9/11 is my birthday and I chose to purchase a flag to honor all our military and the hero’s from wars and attacks on US soil. I will cherish this flag as a symbol that Freedom is not free.

Perfect birthday gift for a retired SeaBee! 🐝
So glad I purchased this for my retired SeaBee. Had the flag flown on his 75th birthday! It came quickly and was well pack. I had questions and the communication was fast and helpful. Would buy again! You will love it as well if you make this purchase. !

Gift for Re-enlistment
I ordered the item on the original re-enlistment date of my best friend. As typical with military, things change, and I had to not only change the date but switch from pick up to mailing. The office was very accommodating, and I received my item. My only critique would be to mail the certificate between cardboard of some kind, as the edges were curled a bit by mailing without any reinforcement. Thankfully, a heavy booked fixed the issue in a few days. I cannot wait to present the gift to him!

What a great gift for any patriate.
My son had ordered which he presented to me last week. The flag was raised over the Arizona on June 6th. Yes, I was born 80 years earlier on June the 6th, 1944 so that flag has a lot of meaning to me. Having been born on D-Day has always great meaning to me and I will treasure this flag for the rest of my life.
The Oahu Island Atlas and Maps was published in 2010. It's out of print from the original publisher. I'm thankful to Pacific Historic Parks for still having some copies in their inventory. I'm giving my brother and sister a map when they come to visit from the mainland.
We only purchase flags flown over the USS Arizona. We are veterans and a Gold Star Family, having lost family at Pearl Harbor and in Vietnam. Our flags are a constant reminder of the freedoms we fought for and the loved ones we lost.
This book is wonderful! Full of so much information. Amazing stories! I can't imagine having lived through this. Every time we visit Oahu we make sure to visit Pearl Harbor. In October 2024 the park ranger told the story of the bugler and the fighter pilot before we went out to get on the boat to the memorial. Always save room in your heart for grace! Thank you for making these books available when we get back home and wish we were still in Hawaii!
