Every Day I Dream of Sumay: Thriving in the Face of Displacement and Exile in Post - War Guam, by James Perez Viernes, PhD, honoring the legacy of a southern village erased by World War II but never forgotten. On December 8th, 1941, the village of Sumay was bombed by Japanese forces as they invaded Guam during WWII. Following the war, those who had called Sumay home for generations were permanently displaced to make way for the construction of today's Naval Base Guam.
This book captures the cultural and emotional connections that have persisted through generations.
When my wife and I visited Hawaii in August 2014 I bought one of these shirts while I was over there but have only worn it on rare occasions because I thought I would not be able to get the same T-shirt again. Having gone online and found they are still available I bought another one and now wear my original one every week. They fit perfectly, are made of great quality material, good price and the graphics look stunning and I have since bought a cap to match.
Wearing it now as I write this. Purchased one in January this year when I visited Pearl Harbor and subsequently left it behind at a restaurant and never found it.Be more careful now
I purchased this same mug when my wife & I visited Pearl Harbor in May of this year, and I was so impressed with the quality and graphics that I bought another one for a friend.
It's a great book. I had the book years ago. Everyone should get the book who is interested about the USS Enterprise CV 6 And her Air group beginning of World War Two.
