Events on Dec. 7, 1941 would prove the catalyst to a wide range of changes in American life. One of on-going significance was the change in lifestyle and career options possible for women. World War II proved pivotal in initiating this liberating and demanding process of change. For some women the war years (1942-1945) meant active military service. For others, service meant working in government offices, and in the factories and munitions plants that produced the vast quantity of equipment and goods that victory demanded, with the United States called The Arsenal of Democracy. Still others, like the author's mother, followed drafted husbands to stateside postings, returning home to raise newborns as single parents when the call came for their husbands to be transferred. So it was that Allan Seiden was born at Camp Carson, Colorado, where his father, an Army Sergeant, was posted until an untimely transfer just days before Mr. Seiden was born. This book, in the story it tells, is dedicated to those many women who rose to the challenge, maintaining continuity, not only for millions of men in arms, but in the nation's ability to meet the unrelenting demands of the war effort. Working for the common good, they helped redefine and broaden the role of women in the life of the nation.
The first 54 pages are dedicated to the history of American women in World War II. The last five pages are postcards.
The shirt is great. My only complaint is it doesn't come in another color. I'm not a big fan of dark blue. It is a great way to honor our country and not forget the past.
got this Medallion in a set of items including the Diamond Head Certificate, Diamond Head Medallion and the Diamond Head Bench Marking pin. We did both during our last visit and loved the experience.
I’m playing catch up with just now getting the walking stick medallions of the places I’ve been in the last 3 years. I purchased this set with the Arizona and Diamond Head medallion along with the Diamond Head Cert and the Bench Mark pin for a good price and I’m really happy with all items.
a nice piece to add to our travels collection my wife and I simply put both of our names onto the cert with the date we climbed in the circle. Printed very nicely and I purchase a nice certificate frame for it.
I ordered this flag, your people canceled it because they did not have the one I ordered. Then 25 email and 25 phone calls later. These flags where to be flown on the
25th of Jan with a pick up order. After 25 or so phones calls i final got a young lady (Mgr of gift shop) who fixed all of this and went above and beyond. They where flown on date in question and handed to me and certificate where done while waiting. But the stress was so bad. As we where there for our 50th Anniversary and my daughter 43rd birthday and i had needed this done. I ordered early to assure this was being done.

I thought that it was very nice and love adding it to my collection of his? I have a nice complete set of DVD"s along with some nice Colorized Kennedy Half Dollars and he was one of my favorites while I grew up as well.
