The photo on this ornament was taken in Times Square, New York by U.S. Navy photo journalist Lt. Victor Jorgensen on August 14, 1945, the day World War II ended.
This date has come to be known as Victory over Japan Day (V-J Day, also known as Victory in the Pacific or V-P Day). The photograph portrays an American sailor kissing a nurse during the celebration that followed President Truman's announcement of Japan's surrender. Jorgensen titled his photograph Kissing the War Goodbye. (George Mendonsa and Greta Zimmer Friedman)
Excellent good product and great customer service. I was so surprised of receiving product so quickly and the hat looked exactly as I bought when I was there on 8/16. Malia was so kind and helpful. Thank you for your assistance and everyone at Diamond Head. Have a fabulous day.
In loving Kindness,
Thanh B.
The Pacific Historic Parks Flag is a beautifully constructed, high-quality symbol of America. I’m proud to fly it, knowing it flew over Pearl Harbor on the anniversary of December 7th. It is truly a treasure to have.
Little concerned as to the validity of the certificate. Purchased two flags and it would seam that each flew at the same time. 0500 to 1200 on 7 December 2023
Wonderfully prices, great quality item. Kids will treasure it forever, as the did their trip to aPearl Harbor. Shipping was super fast and no problems with the order. Greatly done.
